Amilla Maldives Resort; The Island Where Dreams Are Born Joins Eco Hotels & Resorts

Check out the latest member hotel of Eco Hotels & Resorts, the most magical and beautiful resort on the Indian Ocean joins EHR's movement.

Eco Hotels & Resorts is excited to welcome its #18th member hotel, its second property in the Indian Ocean. In the middle of lush jungle, crystalline waters, and powdered sands, lies Amilla Maldives Resort and Residences, a tropical playground located in the sublime Baa Atoll UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve in the Maldives. This private island offers the perfect space to play, roam and relax with timeless style and endless bliss. Amilla specializes in surprising its guests and pampering them while offering them a personalized Katheeb (guest experience), where they will get to experience unexpected treats and indulgences. With 23.5 hectares of island, one of the largest and more spacious in the Maldives where 70% of the island is untouched, guests will be able to explore and discover the ultimate feeling of unparalleled freedom in secret beaches that will exceed their expectations.

Amilla Maldives offers 67 Villas and Residences designed by acclaimed Australian architect, Kelvin Ho, whose minimalist design is a contemporary twist on traditional Maldivian bungalows, featuring bold geometry and natural materials. Rather than mimicking the southeast Asian pitched roofs and coconut thatch seen so often in the Maldives, the villas pay homage to the oblong, flat-roofed homes and recycled coral walls found in Maldivian island villages. Guests have a choice of water villas, treehouse villas, or boho bungalows, each of them offering a unique and beautiful view. They also have two-bedroom villas or Residences that host up to six – perfect for families and groups of friends. Every single property has its own pool and spacious outdoor garden or terrace.

Amilla cuisine offers different options to all their guests; from healthy and immunity-boosting food and drinks to vegan, paleo, keto, and dairy-free options in their world-class menus. Whether they’re craving Italian, Japanese or south Indian food, Amilla has a variety of options that will delight their guests’ palate. They will be able to rotate between various restaurants to keep experiencing something new each day, no matter how long they’re staying here. From dawn to dusk, dining at Amilla Maldives Resort and Residences is always a pleasure. All meal plans include the option to Dine Around their eight different weekly dining experiences and their DAI (Dine Around Inclusive) plan includes a wide variety of beverages at their three bars.

Infinite excitement or ultimate relaxation? Whatever your style of holiday is, Amilla has more than enough activities and Maldives excursions to keep their guests occupied, no matter how long they’re staying. Guests will be able to discover a host of water-sports activities, from parasailing to wakeboarding. Land-based games such as beach volleyball, badminton, tennis, and football. Plus special happenings, daily. Amilla is in the heart of a special reserve famed for its remarkable marine life and clear waters. It’s perfect for diving and snorkeling any time of the year. From June to October, manta rays and whale sharks reign supreme. Then the devil rays, stingrays, and eagle rays reclaim their kingdom. Amilla invites its guests to embark on an exciting adventure to explore some of the most spectacular coral reefs around Baa Atoll. Search for green turtles, reef sharks, napoleon wrasse, moray eels, and much, much more.

Last but not least, Amilla has embarked on an exciting new journey of sustainability. From creating new organic gardens to protecting our UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, Amilla has successfully achieved Silver EarthCheck Certification for 2021!  This places them as a leader in the unique worldwide group of sustainable tourism operators certified to the internationally recognized EarthCheck Company Standard with the exclusive EarthCheckTM seal of approval.
